High Surf Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 4:24 PM PST on March 10, 2010

... High surf advisory in effect until 2 PM PST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
high surf advisory for the beaches of the central coast. This
advisory is in effect until 2 PM PST Thursday.

High surf of 10 to 13 feet will develop at the area beaches
tonight as a large northwest swell combines with a wind driven
swell over the coastal waters. The high surf will also result in
strong rip currents which will make swimming dangerous for anyone
entering the ocean.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
