... Frost advisory in effect from 2 am to 7 am PST Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a frost
advisory... which is in effect from 2 am to 7 am PST Thursday for
the central and southern San Joaquin Valley.

* Timing: clear skies and rapidly diminishing wind this evening
will set the stage for frost formation throughout much of the
San Joaquin Valley tonight... particularly along the west side
and areas west of Highway 99. Minimum temperatures of 30 to 32
degrees will occur in the coldest locations for a period of 3 to
5 hours early Thursday morning. Residual clouds along the east
side and south end of the valley will lessen the threat of frost
late tonight where minimum temperatures are expected to be in
the mid to upper 30s.

* Temperature: 30 degrees in the coldest locations to the mid 30s
elsewhere.

* Locations include:
Hanford... Lemoore... Avenal... Corcoran... Merced... Madera... Los
Banos... Coalinga... Mendota... Caruthers... Stratford.

* Impacts: precautions should be made this evening. Frost
sensitive plants and vegetation will be damaged or killed if
left uncovered.
